A Week of Colour, Curls & Creativity: India Fay’s Hard Fibre, Hard Cap Wig Journey at Studio Loz

This week at Studio Loz, I had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the incredibly talented India Fay to our 5-Day Diamond Hard Fibre Hard Cap Wig Course — and what a week it’s been!

India has spent the last five days diving headfirst into the world of hard fibre wig-making, learning the full process from scratch: from glueing and sculpting hard fibre, to crafting eye-catching styles worthy of the stage. With the panto season 2025 just around the corner, her creations couldn’t have come at a better time!

Wig One: A Hard Fibre Ginger Dream

India’s first masterpiece! A stunning curly updo featuring a swirly fringe and sculpted swirly back. The curls — a true labour of love — looked absolutely outstanding, full of volume and theatrical flair. But the real showstopper was the colour. By blending brown, orange, and red hard fibre using the hackle (our infamous bed of nails used for colour mixing), she created the perfect shade of ginger — rich, warm, and bursting with definition. It’s a colour that’ll shine beautifully under stage lights and bring energy to any character it adorns.

Wig Two: Show-Stopper Chic

For her second look, India turned up the volume and popped the colour! She created a Tracy Turnblad-inspired hairspray-style wig, combining a magical mix of pink, red, and purple fibre. With an integrated love heart fringe, this piece is full of fun, flair, and fantasy — the kind of wig made to steal the spotlight. Every step of the process was hands-on, thoughtful, and filled with creativity — and the result? Two completely unique, stage-ready showpieces!
